A Moment That Sparked a Mission
When I was about seven years old, I stood at a bank counter holding a stack of papers that felt heavier than they should. My mom, unable to read the documents, asked me to help. As I stumbled through technical terms, her trusting gaze pushed me forward. I felt an odd mix of pride and pressure, knowing I was her connection to a world she couldn’t access. That moment planted the seeds of a lifelong mission: to help others overcome similar barriers.
Becoming My Mom’s Voice
From those early moments at the bank, I became my mom’s interpreter and advocate, navigating complex systems on her behalf. Without realizing it, I was honing skills that would one day become the foundation of my professional work as an interpreter.
Lessons from a Resilient Role Model
My mom, one of the eldest of 12 siblings, stayed home to care for her family instead of going to school. Despite her literacy challenges, her determination inspired me. She believed success was possible for everyone, no matter their circumstances, and never let obstacles hold her back. As a single mother, she taught my sister and me to dream big, seize opportunities, and always help others.
Her entrepreneurial spirit was proof of her resilience. She completed beauty school, opened her dream business, and now, semi-retired, still runs a small operation to serve loyal customers. She taught me that challenges aren’t roadblocks—they’re stepping stones.
A Deeper Purpose
I also saw other family members and loved ones struggle with illiteracy, which deepened my sense of purpose. I felt fortunate to have the education I did and knew I wanted to be a voice for those who needed one—a bridge to resources and opportunities.
Let’s Bridge the Gap Together
This journey has shaped who I am today. It’s why I’ve dedicated my career to helping others break down language barriers and connect with the world around them.
If you’re looking for an interpreter who understands the importance of communication and connection, I’m here to help. Whether it’s bridging gaps in healthcare, legal matters, or day-to-day business, I bring not only expertise but also a personal passion for making sure every voice is heard. Let’s work together to ensure nothing gets “lost in translation.”
